You will be assigned a COLOR level after Annette, our coordinator, meets with you:

COLORS will match the lanyards you will wear with your name, until you progress to a new color, when you’re on site. COLORS should match the names of the horses on the boards, so that you know which horses are suitable to handle.

COLORS are:

  • BLACK: Staff and Professionals only (NO Volunteers)

  • RED: Advanced Horses

  • Orange/Yellow: Intermediate Horses

  • Blue: Beginner Horses

  • Green: No Horse Handling (yet)

These are typically special volunteer shirts, but if we don’t have them in stock or your size, you may pick a regular ATFO or HOP logo shirt with Annette. It is a small thank you for your time and effort.

  1. When coming out to the farm, please wear the lanyards with your name (once they arrival and are stored at the front), and be sure to post in the Mulligan Farms Group in a comment under the daily post made by the caretakers to let everyone know you’re coming out and your expected arrival time, and then please post when you’ve headed out in the comments. This is your check in and check out process.
